I have taken photos for most of my life, but when my friends all left home for university and I remained, I fell into photographing nightlife on Edinburgh's Cowgate. Ever since, I have used cameras as an extension of myself as I navigate the social world.
People are at the heart of all I do. When university finally found me, I fell quite naturally into studies of Social Anthropology, and have since graduated with a First Class degree from the University of Edinburgh.
I take an anthropological disposition with me into my photography, seeking to understand the spaces I find myself in to represent others as authentically as is possible. I am particularly drawn to events, performance, and portraiture, exploring how people come together and understand themselves in relation to each other.
I have completed both stages of Stills School and I am currently undertaking a Mentorship in Dance Photography with Scottish Ballet.
